The Medieval Village
This year’s Medieval Village at Winter Blast promises to transport festivalgoers into the 15th century with a winter twist, featuring expanded hours, thrilling adventures and enchanting dragons! Guests will be immersed in a magical medieval experience unlike any other.
Michigan’s own Knights of the New Order, a renowned medieval jousting team, will bring history to life. Attendees can marvel at the knights’ dazzling suits of armor, meet their majestic warhorses and hear captivating tales of medieval times from Marshall Lady Margaret and her loyal squires.
Returning this year, festivalgoers can embark on an epic quest to recover a stolen dragon egg. New to the festival, dazzling animatronic dragons illuminated with vibrant lights will bring the Medieval Village and Centennial Commons to life, creating a magical backdrop for photos and unforgettable memories. Perfect for kids and adults alike, this interactive quest promises excitement at every turn. Those who successfully complete the challenge and reclaim the dragon’s egg will be entered for a chance to win a weekend getaway at Soaring Eagle Waterpark.
Hands-on medieval fun offerings include archery and ax throwing for guests to test their skills. They can also enjoy interactive storytelling and a knighting ceremony, as well as Delirio del’Arte, a performance troupe of entertaining “professional idiots” specializing in a variety of skills, such as juggling, magic, comedic improv, fire manipulation and more that is sure to leave audiences in stitches and awe. Lastly, fire will meet ice on Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. when the village ice tower is set ablaze – a must-see highlight of the festival.
